Oh, thanks! But I wasn’t talking about my writing having low standards — I was talking about my reviews having low standards. My reviews are generally terse and very light on information. They’re not what you’d call in-depth.

First off, my friend, you have among the highest standards of anyone I have ever known in terms of writing quality – as I’ve told you in the past, your opinion of my writing has a HUGE impact on my perception of its quality. On top of that, I have read a good bit of your writing, and besides being impeccable grammatically, you carry a style of which I can only dream.

That said, ZombieLand DID have Bill Murray in it, playing himself! Bill Murray AND zombies? How could that POSSIBLY not be worth seeing?

Yes. My girlfriend has this same attitude, particularly towards music, and it’s always a good refresher for me. I am quick to criticize something lousy but she has the ability to be completely un-self-conscious when it comes to music and can appreciate any song for what it is, no matter how cheesy or poppy. And she’s pretty much always right.

However, ranking Phantom Menace above Jedi, even fresh out of the theater, is just plain silly.

(Then again, I particularly like Jedi. And I liked Attack of the Clones so much after the first viewing that I skipped work one day to go see it again.)

Hmm, tricky. Maybe physically hold cat 1 while staring cat 2 at bay, seal off cat 1, then seal off cat 2. Or get two people on the case.
